FLASHFRAME FILMS
DEVELOPS EPANDMEDIA FOR POLITICAL AND PUBLIC ISSUE ADVERTISING;
RE-LOCATES TO NEW OFFICES
New York’s Flashframe Films
has repositioned itself from a leading music video production house
to that of a force in political and public issue TV and radio spot
production, PSAs, and corporate communications. To serve those needs
in a more dedicated fashion, Flashframe has created a new division
named EpandMedia and re-located to Times Square at 2 W. 45th St. Suite 1200, NYC 10036. The company’s new telephone number:
212.354.8188.
Led by director/producer Len Epand -- who served as a producer and
creative at Washington, D.C. ad agency Squier Knapp Dunn Communications
(SKDC) on the 2000 Presidential campaign of Gore/Lieberman -- EpandMedia
enabled SKDC’s efforts on the successful 2001 Bloomberg for
Mayor campaign, and SKDC’s and Penczner-Burton Media’s
work on the 2002 campaign of Andrew Cuomo for Governor of NY State.
Additionally, the new EpandMedia helped create ads for the 2002
campaigns of the Iowa Democratic Party (on behalf of the passage
of the 2002 Farm Bill and the re-election of Sen. Tom Harkin --
both successful); Rod Blagojevich for Governor of Illinois (successful),
Tony Sanchez for Governor of Texas (unsuccessful), and the re-election
of Senator Jay Rockefeller (from West Virginia, successful).
Of the creation of EpandMedia, Epand commented, “Broadening
from entertainment into commercials with an emphasis on political
and public issue advertising was a natural progression for us. Since
my involved days of the ‘60s and ‘70s I feel like I’ve
come full circle. If we can elevate the public debate in even the
slightest way, it’s a bonus.
“Producing a variety of great directors at Flashframe was
exciting and we’ll continue to do so on a selective basis,”
he added. “But I’m enjoying doing my own creative work
and keeping the administrative demands to a minimum. That is what
this new entity EpandMedia allows.”
